COVID 19: GUIDELINES FOR AIR CONDITIONING AND VENTILATION 


ISHRAE has taken the lead to serve as an example for other organizations, as it hosted a nationwide online meeting with all its key personnel wherein President Richie Mittal announced the initiative of creating a COVID Task-force that would address the COVID-19 pandemic and provide guidance on how to prepare buildings for future pandemics. The team will extend their research on air control systems and develop guidelines for HVAC&R systems and temperature/ RH on disease transmission and control systems, specifically as per Indian conditions for residences, commercial buildings, factories and industry, cold storages, refrigeration and healthcare facilities.


COVID-19 is a Global Pandemic and there are concerns associated with Air conditioning and Ventilation also. ISHRAE ( Indian Society for Heating, Refrigerating & Air Conditioning Engineers ) took the lead to address this matter and on 13.04.2020 came out with comprehensive HVAC Guidelines after most relevant, Digitally Enabled,Panel Discussion, drawing expert Panelists from Industry, Academia & Research on " How to Operate Air Conditioning and Ventilation Systems to control the spread of Corona Virus in Residences, Work spaces & Healthcare Facilities".
