ArmaFix® FRV

ArmaFix FRV is an easy-to-install insulated pipe support for refrigeration and air-conditioning applications. Manufactured using a combination of ArmaFlex FRV and load-bearing PUR insulation, ArmaFix FRV will help to prevent thermal bridging.

Competitive Advantages

  • Reliable condensation control
  • Intelligent lock for better installation
  • Easy to install with self-adhesive tape
  • High-strength polyurethane core
  • Low thermal conductivity insulation

Thermal bridging explained

In refrigeration and air-conditioning applications, pipe brackets represent a potential weak point in thermal insulation work. If the pipe is not thermally isolated from the clamp, thermal bridges occur and condensation can form. Poorly insulated fixings can lead to both increased energy loss and the risk of corrosion under insulation (CUI). To prevent thermal bridges, direct contact between the pipe and its bracket should be avoided.

ArmaFix pipe supports are recommended for use where thermal bridging may occur. ArmaFix is used to support insulated pipes with pre-insulated hangers that prevent heat gain or loss from chilled-water, refrigeration and hot water systems. ArmaFix complements ArmaFlex, our elastomeric foam insulation material, on pipe insulation applications.

Using adhesive for ArmaFix FRV

Insulated pipe support - ArmaFix® FRV
Apply ArmaFlex adhesive on the insulated pipe support and remove the self-adhesive tape.

Wet seal butt joints with ArmaFlex adhesive and install ArmaFlex FRV tubes on either side of the insulated pipe support.

Armacell. Global presence. Local focus.

ArmaFlex is Armacell's product heritage. The standard ArmaFlex is manufactured across the Armacell world and customised to meet local requirements and often combined with other products into hybrid solutions. ArmaFlex FRV, for example, is compliant with the National Construction Code and fire-tested for vertical pipe chases to NFPA274.
