Fire safety is essential in healthcare facilities. If a fire breaks out, it is much more difficult to bring vulnerable patients with restricted mobility to safety than to evacuate other public buildings. In the new Tergooi hospital in Hilversum, low-smoke ArmaFlex Ultima and ArmaFix™ Ultima were installed on the chilled-water equipment of the air-conditioning system to ensure condensation control and energy efficiency.

Since smoke is a much greater threat than the fire itself, the smoke behaviour of building materials is essential and Royal Haskoning DHV (Amersfoort) specified ArmaFlex Ultima for the the insulation of mechanical equipment. The insulation material was delivered by Asbipro Technisch Isolatie (Schiedam) and installed by Riweltie Isolatie en Brandpreventie (Utrecht).
