CRYOGENIC INSULATION FOR LNG FUELLING STATION
As the demand for Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) continues to grow, the need for efficient and reliable insulation for cryogenic applications becomes paramount. Leveraging the exceptional properties of aerogel, ArmaGel® DT provides superior thermal performance at lower thicknesses, preserving the integrity of LNG during transportation and storage and contributing to long-term performance of the mechanical equipment.
ELEVATING CHILLING EFFICIENCY WITH CUTTING-EDGE INSULATION
Junuzovic Kopex, based in Lukavac, Bosnia, operates one of Europe's largest virtual pipelines for natural gas, enhanced by a new L/CNG station in Tuzla aimed at improving CNG and LNG delivery across Bosnia. In partnership with Istanbul's UESTCO Energy Systems, the company was provided with a turnkey solution for this project, from planning to installation, including an advanced insulation technology. For the insulation of the cryogenic pipelines with temperatures of -168 °C, UESTCO adopted ArmaGel DT, an aerogel-based insulation for cryogenic pipelines, recommended by the engineering company Cryonos over traditional materials for its superior energy efficiency. All LNG pipelines, pump units, instruments, tanks and dispenser were protected against energy losses with this ultra-thin next generation insulation material.
ARMAGEL DT – INSULATION JUST GOT COOLER
Considered one of the best performing insulation materials available today, Armacell’s ArmaGel products offer superior thermal performance and a reduction in insulation thicknesses compared to competing insulation products. Designed for dual-temperature and cryogenic applications, ArmaGel DT does not shrink at cryogenic temperatures and can be installed with up to 45 percent thinner insulation thicknesses than competing insulation materials. ArmaGel is hydrophobic, i.e., it repels water, but allows water vapour to escape, keeping the equipment drier for longer.
