Thimister (Belgium), 20 March 2013 – A new weight category for modern composite materials: Armacell has extended its PET foam core portfolio, adding a complete product line with a density of 60 kg/m³.
With the new materials Armacell now offers its ArmaFORM PET AC, PET FR and PET GR product families with an even lower density:
- ArmaFORM PET AC60, even as an extremely lightweight product the classic foam combines high mechanical strength with flexibility and maximum service life.
- ArmaFORM PET FR60, for weight sensitive applications in the transport industry where stringent fire, smoke and toxicity requirements (FST) have to be met.
- ArmaFORM PET GR60, the resource-saving, environment-friendly foam core made from the recyclate of PET bottles, is especially suitable for projects with high ecological demands.
The new, particularly lightweight foam cores met with great success when they were presented at the JEC 2013, the world’s leading exhibition for composite materials, in Paris.
