Industrial companies improve their energy efficiency to guarantee competitivenessfor the long-term. RuLa-BRW, the tyre retreading company, reduced radiation losses from its heat presses by 35 percent with one action; insulating its heat presses with
ArmaGel®, our ultra-thin, high-temperature insulation.

With over 50,000 retreads annually, RuLa-BRW is one of the largest independent tyre retreading companies in Germany. Around 50 employees process premium tyres for lorries and commercial vehicles using the latest hot and cold retreading methods on an area of 3000 m² in Königs Wusterhausen, Brandenburg.

GREATER ENERGY EFFICIENCY WITH ARMAGEL

The technical manager chose the innovative ArmaGel aerogel insulation to insulate the heating elements for the treads thanks to its outstanding thermal insulation properties. In this way the challenging requirements – complex and confined space conditions, insulation on moving parts and assembly difficulties – can be met and a significant contribution to occupational safety and further energy savings can be made. The heat plates, cover and outer body of the presses were insulated with HT/ArmaFlex® product and the supply line with the factory precoated HT/ArmaFlex S product.

ARMAGEL - TECHNICAL INSULATION JUST GOT BETTER.

Thanks to its exceptionally low thermal conductivity, ArmaGel is one of the best performing insulation materials currently on offer. The material is up to 80 percent thinner than conventional insulation materials and offers the same heat insulation properties as conventional materials at just a fraction of the thickness. It is hydrophobic and breathable, protects systems from moisture and reduces the risk of corrosion under the insulation. Furthermore, it has excellent acoustic insulation properties (tested to ISO15665). The double-sided laminated blanket provides superior flexibility and can be installed easily even in the smallest spaces.
