BIM - Building Information Modeling

The future belongs to BIM

Integrated planning across the building trades

The future of construction is digital. Because buildings can be planned completely digitally from design to commissioning, maintenance and demolition, ‘Building 4.0’ allows greater planning security, process optimization, efficiency and sustainability.

In collaboration with the software industry, leading manufacturers are working on solutions for planning their products using Building Information Modelling (BIM). In the field of technical insulation we are a pioneer and now offer a plug-in which allows technical insulation materials for building service equipment to be planned digitally.

We introduced a BIM module for the Autodesk Revit® program in the USA as early as 2011. Since 2015 we have been the first manufacturer of flexible insulation materials in the UK to provide BIM objects, which can be downloaded from the NBS National BIM Library free of charge. Now we have gone a step further and introduced an Autodesk Revit® plug-in for planning technical insulation materials for building service equipment digitally.

To save time in the design of installation systems, Armacell has developed  a new version of plug-in that allows you to automatically add insulation on pipes and ducts when you create installation systems in the Revit model.

The software  is available in most of European languages and national users are provided with the product data relevant for them. IT works with Windows 7, 8 and 10 and Revit versions 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021.

It is easy to use and greatly simplifies the designer's work. Very important - The plug-in allows the addition of multilayer insulation wherever the required thickness is greater than the maximum thickness from Armacell’s  portfolio.
