Three product lines,
one promise: green.

Armacell is the pioneer in the field of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) technology and was the first manufacturer to succeed in qualifying PET foam as core material for the composite industry. Thanks to ArmaForm's unique combination of material and processing properties, such as outstanding fatigue endurance, elevated service temperature stability and excellent compatibility with all resin and manufacturing methods, our structural PET foam cores are widely used in composite sandwich constructions.

Whether you are looking for composite solutions in the wind energy sector, searching for lightweight core materials for building and construction, or prefer to have a choice of materials in the rail and road transport or marine sectors, Armacell offers ideal solutions. No matter the market and application, our PET Foams provides a high-performing and highly environmentally friendly alternative to PVC, Balsa, SAN, PUR or honeycomb core materials.

Armacell takes it to the next level: green PET

With the market introduction of ArmaForm Core in 2006, Armacell paved the way for PET foam cores in the composite industry. But our research did not stop there; as a technology leader, Armacell further developed and successfully introduced PET foam cores made from 100% post-consumer (recycled) PET materials, more precisely from recycled beverage bottles.

Thus Armacell is able to provide PET foam cores with the same consistent, reliable qualities but with significantly improved environmental performance. The ArmaForm Core foaming process reduces CO2 emissions by -34% compared to the standard PET foams available in the market made of virgin PET resin. The improvement is even greater in comparison with main polymeric foam cores like PVC, SAN or PUR.

Armacell's PET Foams business comprises three product lines:

ArmaForm Core are structural foam boards used in wide range of composite sandwich applications ranging from rotor blades, train floors, building envelopes, truck bodies, boat hulls to radomes.

ArmaForm Foil are thin flexible PET sheets designed to provide a highly sustainable and improved alternative to cross-linked polyethylene (XPE) and polypropylene (XPP) products in thermoforming applications. Among others, in the automotive industry PET Foil is used in door water shields and roof liners.

ArmaShape are loose PET beads for the manufacturing of lightweight and strong foam cores on industrial scale, producible in nearly any shape. In the automotive industry our particle foams are designed for car body or chassis application.

Center of Excellence of green PET technology

PET Foams is a business unit of Armacell International. In 2017, the company with currently 3,000 employees and 25 manufacturing plants in 16 countries generated total net sales of approx. 603 million euro.
