Armacell appoints new Vice President APAC

Singapore, 1 Apr 2021 – Armacell, a global leader in flexible foam for the equipment insulation market and a leading provider of engineered foams, has appointed Liam Douglas as Vice President APAC (Asia-Pacific). He succeeds Malte Witt, who is returning to Europe as Vice President EMEA (Europe, Middle East & Africa) and retaining his initial responsibility as Chief Marketing Officer.

Liam Douglas joined the company in 2014 as General Manager – Operations, APAC and was responsible for the management of Armacell’s seven manufacturing facilities in the region. Instrumental to the Armacell Jios Aerogels (AJA) joint venture and the launch of ArmaGel™, our next-generation, aerogel-based insulation technology, he has a strong background in operations, supply chain and process management, as well as practical experience in successfully bringing a business idea from conception to execution.

“For the past 7 years at Armacell, Liam delivered great value through the Operations GM role and played an active role in many strategic projects in the region, especially in managing the AJA setup and development," commented Patrick Mathieu, President & CEO of Armacell Group. “I am pleased to welcome him to our executive team, and I am confident that his broad experience and sharp business acumen will help further the company’s growth in the region.”

“Armacell has gone from strength to strength since establishing our APAC regional head office in Singapore in 2014,” said Liam Douglas. “The challenges brought on by the last months have been unprecedented, and I am proud to say that our teams in Asia persevered and we have since evolved. I am honoured to take on the new responsibility and look forward to driving profitable growth opportunities for Armacell and our customers.”

Prior to joining Armacell, Liam Douglas was Director – Supply Chain, Americas at Grohe. He holds a Bachelor’s of Engineering from Sheffield Hallam University and an Executive Masters of Business Administration from ESSEC Business School.
