Armacell relocates Americas Headquarters

Luxemburg, October 26, 2015 – Armacell relocates its Americas headquarters from Mebane to Chapel Hill, NC. The move from Mebane, where the company was present for more than15 years, is due to a steady growth in corporate organization and manufacturing business.

“Armacell has enjoyed steady growth, and simply outgrew the Mebane offices. We are moving about 30 regional headquarters employees to the new Chapel Hill location,” said Jodi Cheek General Manager HR-Americas. “This was a great opportunity to design a workplace that encourages innovation and collaboration.” The move frees up space in Mebane for expanded Customer Service, R&D and Technical Support teams.

“Armacell is pleased to have the opportunity to join the Chapel Hill community,” says Thomas Himmel, Vice President-Americas. “We look forward to this exciting step in the growth of Armacell.”

The manufacturing plant opened in Mebane in 1995 as part of Armstrong World Industries. In 2000, Armstrong sold its insulation division and Armacell was founded as a new company. Today, in the Americas, Armacell operates five US manufacturing facilities, one in Canada and in Brazil. In Mebane, Armacell currently has over 444,000 square feet of building space including a manufacturing facility, warehouse, research and development space and offices. Armacell employs more than 2600 people worldwide, 600 in North America and now approximately 225 at its Mebane location.
